Description
The 2020 health crisis highlighted the importance of providing adequate tools to citizens, professionals, and policy makers to address issues related to public health and well-being, emphasizing the transdisciplinary, complex, and multifaceted nature of this global concern. By expanding the bio-psycho-social model, the research group has integrated expertise from the human, social, and life sciences to offer a deep and multifaceted analysis of complex phenomena concerning humanity. In this context, the group has expressed its interest in actively participating in the European Sociological Association (ESA) to promote and facilitate research, teaching, and communication among researchers in the human, social, and life sciences. The goal is to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and highlight a perspective that integrates sociological, cultural, human, and health-related aspects into public and scientific discourse.
The group has an interdisciplinary composition, capable of providing a deep and multifaceted interpretation of complex phenomena such as those within the social dimensions of health. Specifically, it consists of five sociologists, distinguished both for their scientific expertise and research in the sociological field and for their specific theoretical and methodological focus on the analysis of communication and cultural process underlying health behaviors, professional practices, and healthcare systems at both national and international levels. Additionally, the group benefits from the valuable participation of an expert in linguistic communication within the human sciences, a cultural anthropology expert in social sciences, and a specialist in health-related topics within the life sciences. The group members are characterized by their extensive publications and research projects at national and international levels, with a strong interest in health topics. They aim to organize scientific events and networking to promote debate on the cultural and communicative processes related to health.
