1° Retreat DMED 2026

The event is designed to strengthen the scientific and cultural identity of the Department of Medicine by highlighting the breadth, quality, and multidisciplinary nature of its research activities.
It will also provide an important opportunity for interaction and discussion among all members of the Department, with particular attention to the involvement and recognition of junior researchers, PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and medical residents, fostering the exchange of ideas, new collaborations, and constructive dialogue across academic generations.
The program will include a dedicated session featuring the 13 funded GAIA projects, as well as scientific sessions organized around five major research themes that reflect the Department's scientific strengths:
- Active Aging and Longevity
- Micro-environment and Macro-environment Plasticity in Health and Diseases
- Top-down Approach in Health and Disease: Tools and Discoveries
- Bottom-up Approach in Health and Disease: Tools and Discoveries
- Precision Medicine: Tools and Discoveries
The Retreat will also feature awards for the best Clinical and Translational Research Paper, the best Basic Research Paper, and the best Scientific Posters.
